Pete Kirkwood and the crew at Workshop Brewing Co. are gearing up to celebrate their 1st anniversary this Saturday, August 8th with a pig roast and music from the James Cornelison Band.
The event starts with a Pig Roast Feast from 4-8 PM that will include (more or less) a house-roasted local pig, Bay Town Kitchen sweet rolls, Memphis AND Carolina BBQ, Southern-style creamy cole slaw, Cajun-roasted sweet corn on the cob, Jalapeño-honey corn bread, smoked potato salad, Kansas City-style baked beans, peanut butter cake and a firkin of brewer Corey Wentworth’s special sauce.
Workshop owner Pete Kirkwood says that their first year has been great. “Traverse City has been such a welcoming and satisfying place to be, and people have really embraced our concept. I love the way that our neighbors have made the Workshop their place. Families come in the afternoon, and it’s their place. For live music, young folks & music lovers show up and it’s their place. On Tuesdays for Jazz Night, the jazz crowd shows up and it’s their place. We wanted folks to feel like we were a part of their life, and feel like we’re well on our way to becoming the integral part of the community we wanted to be!”
Stop down and hoist a pint of Workshop brew this Saturday! Tickets for the Feast from 4-8pm are limited and cost $20. They will be open to the public all day and the James Cornelison Band starts playing at 9pm.
