Thursday, April 24th
April is Michigan Wine Month, and tonight Bowers Harbor Vineyards will have a wine tasting at Burritt’s Market. Wines tasted along with delicious Burritt’s food samples will be 2012 Pinot Noir Rose, Pinot Grigio, Unwooded Chardonnay, Medium Sweet Riesling, Pinot Noir and their 2011 Claret, Erica & Langley. Cost is $10 per person and attendees will receive $5 off purchases.

Cyrille Aimee has proven herself to be an unstoppable, undeniable talent in jazz and pop music and on Friday night you can join Cyrille Aimee & Friends at the City Opera House.
The Bon Vin Wine Dinner at Boathouse starts at 6:30pm. It’s an evening of old world wines and cutting edge cuisine.
“The Art of Work” at InsideOut Gallery is a multi-media art experience which features the art of Nickeless Fisher. As the show’s title infers, the pieces will explore the theme of ‘Work’. The free event runs from 7-11 PM and includes music from Blake Elliott and the Robinson Affair.

The Celebration for Young Children is a kid-focused and fun filled day in Downtown Traverse City! Various retailers and locations offer craft projects, educational opportunities and activities throughout the day. More information can be found at Downtown Traverse City!
The Village Indoor Farmers Market at Grand Traverse Commons is our favorite way to start a Saturday and this week is the last one indoors before they move outside to the Sarah Hardy Market and the Monday markets at the Commons. 45 local vendors line the ENTIRE Mercato corridor, from Trattoria Stella, all the way to the Village General Store fresh, local produce, fish, meats, bread & baked goods, preserves, honey, soaps, and more.
The Feast of St Vincent at Brengman Brothers is an annual celebration to pray for good weather for the upcoming season. We have some serious feasting to do this year to get the attention of the patron Saint of Wine Workers and ask for help to flip the switch back to normal weather after this abnormal winter. The Grand Traverse Resort & Spa has partnered with the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula to create the WOMP Wine Dinner, a tasting event that pairs celebrated local wines with tasting plates hand picked to compliment their bouquet. Eight different wineries will be represented, including 2 Lads Winery, Black Star Farms, Bowers Harbor Vineyards, Brys Estates, Chateau Chantal, Chateau Grand Traverse, Hawthorne Vineyards and Peninsula Cellars. $60 per adult and includes 8 wine/food pairing tickets. Short’s is turning 10 years old and they are so excited that we decided to throw an epic street & pub party. Short’s Epic 10th Anniversary Party closes down the streets of Bellaire with 99+ beers on tap, food will be available in the pub and on the street, Joe Short will also give his annual State of the Brewery address and there’s live music from Dean Ween and the Brown Outs, The Ragbirds,Breathe Owl Breathe, Steppin’ In It and Don Julin and Billy Strings! Sunday, April 27th
Bo Ssam is a Korean dish made with slowly cooked pork shoulder and served with various fillings and sauces, then wrapped neatly in a lettuce wrap. Hosting a bo ssam dinner is great fun and Chefs Jennifer and Eric have a couple of slots for Sunday’s Bo SSam class at the Cooks’ House to teach you the ins and outs of this fun dish! The 2nd Annual Pumpkin Pedal is a free group road ride on the Old Mission Peninsula starting at Jolly Pumpkin open to all riders, novice to pro. Come out and enjoy a beautiful group ride on the peninsula followed by great beers and fun in our Peninsula Room. All registrants will be entered into a drawing to win a Jolly Pumpkin Jersey, Beer Club Membership, T-Shirts, and other swag.
The Mark Lavengood Bluegrass Bonanza features some of the finest pickers on the scene, including Keith Billik, Derek Smith, Jason Dennie, Spencer Cain, Ben Rolston, Kyle Rhodes and others and brings the bluegrass to Little Bohemia on Sunday at 4 PM.
Chateau Chantal Winery hosts free afternoon jazz from 3-5 PM at the winery with the Jeff Haas Trio performing new arrangements of tunes by Irving Berlin, Horace Silver, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Herbie Hancock and Thelonious Monk as well as selections from Haas’ extensive catalog.
Northern Natural Cider House One Year Anniversary Bash takes place Sunday night from 6-9 PM. They have the phenomenal Graham Parsons & The Go Rounds as our musical guest on this special evening!
