Taste of Black Star Farms hosts A Perfect Pairing on Thursday Feb 13th to help you learn wine tasting and food and wine pairing while mingling with other singles. There are still a couple of slots left for this no pressure event is limited to 10 men and 10 women. Tickets are $20 which includes the food and wine pairing with wine tasting class. 7 Monks has a Short’s Lovers Delight Beer Dinner that starts on Thursday and runs through Saturday the 15th. It’s a “choose your own beerventure” event with a special menu that includes Smoked Chicken Wings, Venison-Curry Shepherd’s Pie, Blackened Catfish, Red Quinoa Phyllo Tart and Fried Cherry Porter Pie with suggested Short’s pairings including Black Cherry Porter, Love Knife and Bourbon Carrot Cake!
Nothing says I love you (and “I didn’t make this at the last minute”) like a hand-made valentine, and Northern Natural Cider House is holding a hand-made Valentine session tonight from 7-9 PM. Jimmy Olson will be there to inspire you – bring your own supplies – sharing is encouraged!
On the music front, Josh Davis and Joe Wilson are at the Workshop and Don Julin and Billy Strings are at Little Bohemia.

The Little Fleet has two events on Friday the 14th – a Family Valentine’s Day Open House from 3pm – 6pm. Kids Crafts, Heart Shaped Snacks, Happy Hour Deals. Get crafty! And from 3 PM – midnight it’s a variety of chocolates with rare releases of Stouts and Porters. They are also hosting the Friday night after-party for the Comedy Festival with themed drinks and more!
The Workshop is hosting an ALEentine’s Day Jam with the Blue Dirt Band and will have food specials for one and $1 off on single drafts!

Saturday & Sunday there are all kinds of FREE and FUN events on Front St as they close down 2 blocks and fill it with sledding hill, skating rink, ferris wheel and a wide range of events. All the details right here!
Rieslings put Traverse City on the national wine radar, and on Saturday the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula pay tribute to these wonderful wines at Romancing the Riesling! Each will showcase Rieslings along with a special food pairing and even special deals on Riesling varieties! Tickets are $20 ($15 in advance) and include a souvenir wine glass.
Mike Moran and the crew from the Drink My Brewcast podcast will sit down at 3:15 PM at InsideOut with some of the comedians at the Traverse City Winter Comedy Festival to crack a Michigan brew or two and talk comedy. Free & fun!
Brew Club Members at North Peak have a special Polar Bear Classic celebration from 12-4 pm featuring 50 cent draft beers and $1 hot dogs and cheeseburgers! This event is for their Brew Club members only BUT if you want to join, there’s a ½ off special on Brew-Club memberships during the event. No children please.
Oyster Social Saturday at Brengman Brothers Winery is a chance to enjoy the featured wines and (minimum) dozen oysters and sausage, cheese and crackers. The shucking starts at 2 and goes till 7. Suttons Bay invites you to their annual YetiFest. It’s a day of fun wintery events including a YetiFest Bicycle Hill Climb for all skill levels, a 4-4 Hockey Tournament, a Yeti Story Time and a Kid’s Parade, just to name a few!
Every Sunday from now through March 30th, grab your snowshoes or head to Brick Wheels and rent a pair for the day and come enjoy the Old Mission Snowshoe Wine & Brew outing. Meet at Jolly Pumpkin at 11:00am where a free shuttle will transport you to Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery. From there you will snowshoe across Old Mission Peninsula to Bowers Harbor Vineyard and on to Jolly Pumpkin. At each winery you can enjoy $5 Snow Flights and $5 Wine by the Glass Specials. Plus 10% off retail wine that will be taken back to Jolly Pumpkin for you to pick up after you complete your afternoon of snowshoeing. No need to carry your wine the rest of the way. Finally finish up the day at Jolly Pumpkin with a $5 beer sampler and 10% discount on food. No tickets are necessary for this event, just show up at Jolly Pumpkin at 11am. These tours will run every Sunday through March 30th.
