Weekend Roundup: Dress Warm, Go Out.

The holiday season kicks off in earnest tonight with Ladies Night in Downtown TC. Lots more fun on tap including a brunch w/ Santa!

Ladies Night Downtown Traverse City happens tonight starting at 5 PM and on into the evening. Combine your holiday shopping with a fun night on the town as TC’s shops & stores provide food, refreshments, and specials.

West Bay Resort hosts a Ladies Shopping Night Party from 5-7 PM. If you haven’t been in to check out the renovation, now is your chance. Holiday Inn, Shimmers and the entire property has been updated. They threw a wonderful launch party this past spring – here’s hoping they will host another evening with similar zazoom!

Men’s Night at Little Fleet gives the gentlemen something to do. If you’re a fan of great whiskey then you’re going to want to stop by. Warm up at The Little Fleet. I bet it will be an unofficial, official stop for Ladies’ night, as ladies love whiskey too!

Josh Davis & Joe Wilson will be playing tonight at Workshop from 7-10 PM.

This is the last weekend to see It’s a Wonderful Life at Old Town Playhouse. Get into the holiday mood at Old Town Playhouse Thursday – Saturday at 7:30 with matinee shows Saturday & Sunday at 3.

Blake Elliot is at Northern Naturals from 6:30-8:30 playing everything from jazz of the 1920s to the rock and roll of the 70s. Come enjoy and support a straight-up AMAZING Michigan performer enjoy holiday crafted hard ciders and wines!

The Christmas Wine Dinner w/ Bowers Harbor at Boathouse features more than just incredible food. It’s a true Christmas Dinner with holiday cards and presents from 7-10 PM. One $50 meal comes with $20 gift certificate plus a bottle of wine!

E Minor & Savannah Buist at Workshop from 8-11 PM is sure to be a treat! Two sensational local singer/songwriters are coming together on the red carpet at the ‘Shop. Don’t miss E Minor’s guitar/washboard jazz/folk/blues stylings and the entrancing, combustible vocal/fiddle work of The Accidentals’ Savanna Buist.

Saturday

Traverse City Indoor Farm Market The Village Indoor Market takes place every Saturday from 10-2 in the Mercato at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. It’s the perfect start to a cold weather Saturday. While you’re there, take the time to stop into Tastes of Black Star Farms to taste their Winter Harvest Riesling. The weather may not feel prime but it’s ideal ice wine making weather. Area wineries have been busy pressing ice wine this week. Here’s how they do it. 
The Holiday Market at Little Fleet features a curated group of their favorite vendors. Promises to be great day of shopping! They will be serving up several styles mulled wine to get you in the spirit: British Mulled Wine, German Gluhwein, and Nordic Glogg. Happy Holidays.

 

Santa Lucia in The Village from 2-5 PM is a perfect tradition to celebrate at the Grand Traverse Commons. Holiday fun with the family! – Free Horse-drawn Carriage Rides, Santa Lucia Concert, featuring Lisa & Ingemar Johansson with the Northwind Flute Choir in North Mercato 4pm – Holiday Treats from Spanglish & Cuppa Joe following the concert!

Come out to The Workshop from 8-11 PM for The Accidentals ever-entrancing mix of jazz/folk/fiddle/alternative/guitar/blues/wasabi/virtuosic talent/balsamic vinegar/captivating songwriting/etc. They pair perfectly with a snowy night, a plate of fine vittles, a cold glass of fine craft beer, and a bunch of good friends!

If you head over for Sunday Brunch w/ Santa + Reindeer at Boathouse anytime from 9:30 am – 3 pm you (and your kids) can meet Santa, feed his LIVE reindeer, and enjoy a fabulous brunch! Every child gets a gift with his or her name on it from Santa!

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Tribute at InsideOut at 4 PM is just $5! The CSN&Y tribute is an all-acoustic side project for the Leelanau County trio who work together and separately in a number of local bands, including New Third Coast, Good Boy, 3 Hr. Tour, and The Corvairs.
