Thursday

Join Britten for Studio on Tap: Britten + Tent Craft, a behind-the-scenes tour at one of the leading large-format banner companies in North America. You’ll meet at Britten headquarters at 5:30and work your way to TentCraft, wrapping things up in the Britten Club for a drink. Free and open to all.

On Thursdays you can (and should) catch Joshua Davis & Joe Wilson at The Workshop.

Friday

The Ragbirds

On Friday night InsideOut Gallery hosts The RAGBIRDS/ with Blake Elliott & the Robinson Affair. The Ragbirds are one of Michigan’s finest bands and will be playing material from their new album Travelin’ Machine. $10 cover and the show is 9-midnight.

From 8-11 on Friday The Wilenes return to The Workshop. They played a great show in January and return for an encore performance. They’ve played country music all over the world, from The Grand Ole Opry to Europe’s biggest country music festivals. 

Saturday

Oyster Social at Brengman

Wine Boot Camp at Chateau Chantal will provide extensive experience pairing wine and food. You will also learn about wine, wine making, grape growing, and the art of wine tasting. CC winemaker Mark  Johnson is a great storyteller and takes the intimidation out of wine! Cost is $95 – call 231-223-4110 or click for details and reservations.


Get your weekly farm fix at the Farmers Market at Grand Traverse Commons. Local vendors line the Mercato corridors with fresh, local produce, fish, meats, bread & baked goods, preserves, honey, soaps, and more.
This Saturday from 2-7 PM is an Oyster Social Saturday at Brengman Brothers. Your $30 includes the featured wines and (minimum) dozen oysters. Sausage, cheese and crackers will also be served. The shucking starts at 2:00 and goes till 7:00. RSVP early to (231) 946-2764 so they know how many fresh oysters to fly in! 
Bring your family to Northern Naturals on Saturdays for Kids Open Mic. Free – come to listen or perform.

Sunday

WNMC 90.7 FM & RPM Records present a live broadcast of the “Head for the Hills” radio show from 10-noon along with a record swap and sale from 10 AM – 4 PM at InsideOut Gallery. No cover and they’ll have Bloody Marys, Mimosas, coffee, pastries, eggs & other grub for sale.

We won’t have a weekend roundup next Friday, so here’s some highlights!
Spring Break at the StateJoin Founders at 7 Monks for the KBS Release & Tap Bonanza on April 1st. In addition to the wildly popular Kentucky Breakfast Stout, they’ll have other Founder’s beers and a special food menu with suggested pairings.

Speaking of beer, the Ben Daniels Band plays Short’s Brewpub on Thursday (April 3) at 6 PM, and speaking of Short’s, check out our feature on their 10th anniversary bash coming up in April!

Next Friday is a First Friday in the Village, and every first Friday from 5-8 PM, shops, wineries & restaurants of the Village feature art, food and drink samples, shopping, dining and more including a chance to Savor the Tastes & Flavors at Tastes of Black Star Farms (starting at 4) and Don Julin & Billy Strings at Left Foot Charley!

Speaking of Fridays, starting THIS Friday and through Friday April 4th, the State Theatre features FREE movies all day and night to soften the blow for anyone who’s not heading out for Spring Break. Click for the full schedule!
