Since opening in 2004, Winemaker Bryan Ulbrich and the crew at Left Foot Charley have produced 10 vintages. On June 14, 2014 from noon – 3 PM, you will have a chance to taste wines from many of these vintages when they celebrate their 10th birthday with the Left Foot Charley Cellar Raid. This tasting will include a minimum of 10 wines along with charcuterie, cheese and “dramatic readings of their back labels.”

The prize for our February #eatdrinkTC Photo Contest is two, 3-course dinners at The Cooks’ House. We’re going to accept entries through noon Sunday, so if you’re out and taking photos of eating, drinking and enjoying the Traverse City area this weekend, you can enter enter by adding the “#eatdrinkTC” hashtag to your photo on Twitter or Instagram, sharing it to our Facebook or adding it to our Flickr group.
On Saturday night we went out to Bowers Harbor Vineyards for their Sushi Party wine pairing event. In addition to some great pairings, the dinner featured the sushi chefs from FireFly demonstrating the tips & techniques for rolling your own sushi.
What made it extra fun was how they involved the attendees in the demo. We think BHV is on to something with these “demonstration dinners” and hope to see more of them in Traverse City so you can experience something like this soon!
Bowers Harbor Vineyards has been a pioneer of “Dining in the Vines” and “Dining on the Fly” and now is gearing up for a new frontier on Friday, January 25th – the first winemaker’s dinner inside their new tasting room. For this momentous occasion they have selected Chef Bradford Lewis to prepare a delicious 5 course dinner paired with their wines.
Over the weekend of November 22-23, Brengman Brothers will celebrate a successful 2013 grape harvest & crush with an Old World flair with a dinner featuring holiday food with Chef Joe Bologna on Friday and the Festa dell’uva Leelanau Celebration featuring a pig roast and barrel tastings on Saturday.

Our guests were thrilled with his pairing dinner at the winery this past summer, and we’re excited that he’s returning to share the flavors and the feeling of a traditional European harvest celebration.” Read more
