First Annual Family Style Lobster Boil at Bowers Harbor

Gather your family and friends, put on an apron, grab a mallet and prepare to dine on a whole Maine Lobster at Bowers Harbor Vineyards first annual Family Style Lobster Boil on Saturday, July 19th at 7 PM in the vineyard.

When we decided to put a new twist on our popular Dining in the Vines series to create a once-in-the-summer event to celebrate our summer wines and summer on Michigan’s west coast, a lobster boil seemed like the perfect idea. We’ll cover the tables in newspaper, and everyone will get a full, Maine lobster tail along with a bib and their very own mallet to take home and sides of shrimp, corn, potatoes and artichokes that we’ll boil right along with the lobster.”

We asked her about the perfect Bowers Harbor wine for lobster, and Kristy said, “Both our Pinot Grigio & Unwooded Chardonnay work very well with the local whitefish & trout and will go well with lobster. I think that although the Grigio is really good, the Unwooded Chardonnay just nails it. It’s got an apple/pear flavor and finishes with an almost lemony citrus – like squeezing a lemon all over your lobster!”
