If all goes well with their final inspection, Rare Bird Brewpub will open their doors to the public next week. Co-owner and brewer Tina Schuett shares, “It’s been a long road. We’ve worked really hard to make sure everything’s just right and are excited to open the doors to let everyone see what we’ve built.”
“The Imperial Beer Series was the benchmark for our company, sort of our departure point,” explains Short’s Brewing Company founder Joe Short in the latest Short’s Cast. “It was one of those projects where I wanted to go all in – sort of a make it or break it effort. We didn’t have a whole lot of volume or a whole lot of distribution. What we did have was a lot of creativity, some brewing skills and a whole lot of imagination.” Read more

This photo of a tasty “one-hander” sandwich at the Workshop Brewing Company was taken by Traverse Traveler yesterday. Is it their Pry Bar Porter or the Wrecking Bar Bourbon Barrel Porter? Probably the Pry Bar which they pair with this Cherry Pry Bar BBQ pork, pickled cabbage, double oat bread sandwich, but either way, it’s a delicious brew for a wintry afternoon!
